Matt Stitch to present “The Dangers of the Victorian Age: Food and Drinks”

HOLLIDAYSBURG – The Blair County Genealogical Society will meet at 7:00 pm Thursday, July 18th, 2024 at the Roller Hojeth Memorial Library, 431 Scotch Valley Rd.  Hollidaysburg, PA. 

Our July meeting will be local resident Matt Stitch speaking about “The Dangers of the Victorian Age: Food and Drinks.”

Matt is a local resident, author, and brewmaster.  His ancestor, Julius Stitch, immigrated alone from Germany at just 14 and helped start Carrolltown.  He also started one of the first lager breweries in the United States and Julius’s son started a brewery and soda factory in Altoona.   

Matt is a graduate of Altoona Area School District, Penn State University, and the Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center.  He has also self published two books “The Lickiest Dog” written for his son and “The German Toolbox” inspired by his ancestor Julius Stitch.

All presentations are free and open to the public.  Donations are greatly appreciated.
